WHAT WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO: TASSA is a Sheltie club dedicated to all aspects of the Shetland Sheepdog. We hold our meetings in Tallahassee, Florida, although we have members from many surrounding areas including Georgia.  Our objectives are to inform and educate ourselves and the general public about responsible pet ownership and responsible breeding practices. We provide support and information on care, grooming, and training to our members. TASSA funds its own Sheltie Rescue. Our monthly newsletter contains informative articles, recipes, minutes from the last meeting, bad jokes, and notice of pertinent events. 

WHO WE ARE: Our members are a diverse group. What unites us are all the different aspects of Sheltie ownership, from conformation to obedience to agility to pet lovers. Check out our photos page for the most important members: our Shelties.

OUR EVENTS: We also hold an annual Specialty Show in conjunction with the Ochlockonee River Kennel Club allured show the third weekend in February. Along with our specialty show we have a raffle to benefit our Sheltie rescue. Check our Upcoming Events for information on the show. We also hold informal fun matches, a Shelt-O-Ween costume event, a holiday party, educational seminars--and more. It gives our dogs a chance to socialize too!

OUR MEETINGS: We hold monthly meetings the third Monday of each month (at least ten months out of the year), typically at the Tallahassee Senior  Center at 1400 North Monroe Street (corner Monroe and 7th Avenue). Board meetings start at 7:00 PM and the general meetings start at 7:30 PM. General meetings are open to all who are interested in joining the club too. We encourage those interested to contact a member or just come to the meeting.
