Currently in Rescue:

FLASH: After Carla placed her picture and description on the Internet, 8 year old "couch potato" sable, Mandy was adopted by a couple from west Central Florida whose Sheltie (looking like Mandy) had recently died. Mandy has a Sheltie companion there, too, who was mourning the loss of the older dog.
Mandy's previous humans were an elderly couple who entered a nursing home.
DID YOU KNOW? It is FEDERAL LAW that you can have companion animals in Independent Living and most Assisted Living facilities. However, nursing homes and some assisted living facilities (e.g., for Dementia) are another story.

Rescue dogs who have touched our lives and hearts in the past:

Oscar was adopted by a couple from Panama City! This big beautiful two year old sable fellow now has his very own dog to play with too!

ROCKY

This is Rocky, a sable merle male who lived on the streets for about six months. At some point he was hit by a car and his rear leg was broken. By the time, he was captured and turned over to our rescue his leg had healed to the point that the vet felt it couldn't be set, and that he would be better off with his leg amputated or left as is. Rocky's new owners searched and found a vet who was willing to give surgery a try. The surgery was a success and now he has full use of all four legs! In fact, Rocky now loves agility!

Teddy Bear really is! He is a big tri male who was rescued from the local pound. Teddy needed someone to spend time with him. He  went to a great home where he goes to work on a plantation with his new owner every morning and then has afternoons at home by himself.

TEDDY BEAR

Rescue Dogs come in all sizes, colors, and temperaments. They may be found stray, retrieved from the pound, left behind by the death of an owner, or even turned over by their previous owners. Regardless of where they come from, each dog is special and we try to match them up with the perfect permanent home. When we receive a dog, she or he is checked throughly by a vet, given all needed medical attention, brought up to date on shots, and spayed or neutered.  Rescue Dogs can make wonderful pets for a family that is committed to them. Rescue Dogs have been known to go to their new homes and after training enjoy competing in dog's sports such as obedience or agility. If you have extra love to give please consider a Rescue Dog.
